Demel Fine Art Newsletter for 12.13.2011

Greetings! Thanksgiving tides to ye all!  This excerpt will be short and sweet: here are the most recent activity with Demel Fine Art and friends in the past two weeks!

1. Drumroll please: Demel Fine Art is finally creating a bonafide website!  Expect it to be up and running within a week or two. You will then be able to see a gallery of artwork created by Demel Fine Art and students alike, be updated with the most current exhibitions, see a listing of classes for 2012 (adults and youth), and much, much more!

2. Private art lessons have been going swell with two of our very talented locals.  One is practicing anatomy of the hands and feet to build up her skills (she is already an ace at the rest of the human anatomy!), and the other young artist has been having a good ol' time with watercolors! Pictures will be posted on the blog soon.

3. Demel Fine Art has had the wonderful opportunity to showcase a few pieces by Caitlin E. Demel in the front store window next to the Downtown Schulenburg Historical Museum at 631 N. Main St. in Schulenburg, TX 78956.  Take a gander over to check it out.  Each piece tells a story about some of our unique situations in our very contemporary world.  Because the stories tied to each painting are not printed out to read, as you are standing there looking, ask yourself: "What does this mean?  Why these images?  Why this color?" And keep on asking! Also, do not forget to view the beautiful watercolor paintings in the next door window by Dale Schmidt. She is also a local artist pretty darn talented!

4. Last, but not least, I have had the sweet opportunity to finally start up painting and creating artwork full-time, so hopefully you will all have new refreshing paintings to look at in March at the Schulenburg Art Music and Wine Walk.  Whoopee!

Thank you for humoring the newsletter, and have a great Thanksgiving with your friends and loved ones! I know I will!

Sincerely,

Caitlin E. Demel

Weekly Newsletter

Hey y'all!

Great news! Demel Fine Art will be a fully-functioning business, starting next week! Thankfully, there has been a lot of support around town by individuals and businesses alike.  For example, the Schulenburg Historical Museum is changing out their window displays to show case art work by local artists Caitlin E. Demel and Dale Schmidt. Also, The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce sent out their weekly newsletter congratulating Demel Fine Art on their official membership.  As happy and positive as everyone has been, Demel Fine Art is even happier that it is possible to be here in such a wonderful and supportive town as Schulenburg, TX.

As posted last week, a great deal will be coming up within the next year for the blast-off of Demel Fine Art: classes, art exhibitions, newsletters - a whole bunch of events that tie back to helping maintain the surge of creativity that can be found within our community. As always, thank you so much for all of your support, plus your contagious spirit!

Sincerely,
Caitlin E. Demel

p.s. The schedule of art classes for the new year will be posted mid-November, and, we are cracking on that! Email us if you have any suggestions, or if you or a friend/child would like a few private lessons instead - we are accommodating!

Congratulations, Ally!

A congratulations goes out to our current student, Miss Ally of Schulenburg, for having her artwork chosen for display in the Spanish classroom of Schulenburg ISD!  Ally is a very talented artist, and, what is even more amazing, is that she is only 9 years old!  The students have all shown a wonderful knack for creating art, and their enthusiastic imaginations are always kicking in.  I look forward to our upcoming schedule of classes for youth next year! Stay posted!

Happy Halloween,

Art Workshops for Adults Coming Soon!

Wow! Our last couple months here in Schulenburg have been so much fun! The Demel Fine Art summer art classes took off without a hitch, despite many peoples' very busy schedules, including myself. I thank every single person for their physical participation and moral support, and I look forward to seeing you all at future Schulenburg art ventures.  So many classes and events will be coming up in the remainder of the year, such as compact weekly workshops for adults (to accommodate those bustling schedules), and possibly open-art-nights for teens and preteens.  There will also be a new area in the shop for the Demel Fine Art Wall of Fame, plus an area for swapping artist trading cards (google these things: they are totally cool, plus very fun to create and collect! For the official website on artist trading cards, visit: http://www.artist-trading-cards.ch/index.html).

The schedule for all these fun, new, art-themed activities will be out by Friday, August 5th, so be sure to revisit the blog, and find something that you would absolutely LOVE to do in our sweet lil' ol' town of S'burg!

Thanks again for all the support - y'all are
SPECTACULAR!

Kindest wishes,

What a success!

Dear Reader,

Last weekend Demel Fine Art and The Shop Downtown proudly hosted the first ever Young Artists' Exhibition in Schulenburg, TX. The turnout of visitors ran between 40 to 50 people in the 2 hour span.  That is a pretty good number for Schulenburg, TX, a town with a population of about 2,800.

As the owner of the newly founded Demel Fine Art business, I am ecstatic with the outcome of the show.  A thank you goes out to the artists for creating such lovely paintings, and also to parents, family, and friends for their support. Another piece of gratitude goes to the other wonderful individuals and businesses who helped us along to a great success. Some names that need to be mentioned for individual thanks are as follows:
All the visitors seemed delighted with the show. The look was cohesive, and the kids had fun pinpointing their original artwork out to friends and family in the mass of a salon-style display. All artwork originated from the Watercolor I course, provided by Demel Fine Art.
Dear Readers,

Christine Galipp

Michelle Dunsworth

Mathew Demel

The Shop Downtown

The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce

The Schulenburg Sticker

If it weren't for these businesses and individuals, it is unlikely that we would have had such a great turnout.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,
Caitlin E. Demel
