Schulenburg Art, Music & Wine Festival is back!

This past year, the Greater Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce has again sifted through the diverse Texas countryside in search of some true diamonds in the rough. Thus, the organization has been able to collect a small menagerie of talented artists, musicians, and wine producing masters to share their creations with the public on Saturday, March 9th, 2013. Us humble artists are especially excited to have the luxury of utilizing the historic Sengelmann Dance Hall toward our best advantage when it comes to featuring our array of paintings, sculptures, and other amazing creations!

So, please, do join me, my Chamber friends, and the rest of the crowd on

Why Art Matters

Looking Back on 2011~

A boisterous Happy New Year to all friends and patrons of Demel Fine Art! There are many events to come in this current year, many very exciting art-related events, but it is still fun to look back on the wonderful things which took place in 2011!

To begin, 2011 was the official dawning of Demel Fine Art. Established back in May, 2011, the business quickly took off with a roar! Summer art classes were taught by artist Caitlin E. Demel in the quaint back room of the ever-so-charming Shop Downtown, courtesy of Ms. Christine Galipp. Classes were taught to children and adults alike, followed at the end of each month with creative art exhibitions showcasing the wonderful talent in each of the classes.

As the very busy holidays drew near, Demel Fine Art switched roles over to individual art lessons, taught to a few individuals within the Fayette County area, due to more flexible schedules. Below you can view photos that were taken from these many art ventures. Look for familiar faces, perhaps even your own!

Demel Fine Art: Fine Art for a Fine Community!

This is the first student art exhibition to
ever be hosted by Demel Fine Art.

Here is Monet and her mom Ruth with
the multitude of watercolor paintings.

Shane and his mother Sandra stand in front
of his awesome cow watercolor painting.

Above are two lovely paintings created by Miss Hannah.
The cow creamer was observed from life, and the
abstraction was a skill building technique using paintbrushes.

Here are Michelle and Ally acting goofy with
 their artwork at the Flatonia Independence Celebration

Here is a beautifully colored and textured sculpture created by Abby,
shown at the Flatonia Independence Celebration.

the proud artist herself!

Above is an illustration created by Ally,
visually narrating her alien joke.

This bold painting is an illustration done by Christine,
hinting at the wonders of her own children's book.

This ugly old hag (I am ONLY quoting the artist!)
was created by Miss Jodie! Do note that she is stealing  jewels...

Shane was the only student to undertake sculpture,
and what a super job he did! Sculpture is a
wonderful way to illustrate an idea or feeling,
such as a sweltering desert.



Last but not least, here is an assortment of artwork
from the past year that was created by Abby,
 a teenager who takes lessons once a week.
